Potala Palace at Lhasa (China)

The Potala Palace located in Lhasa, Tibet Autonomous Region, China, was the chief residence of the Dalai Lama until the 14th Dalai Lama fled to Dharamsala, India after a failed uprising in 1959. Today the Potala Palace is a state museum of China. It is a popular tourist attraction and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Grote, zeer storende fout: het Potala paleis staat niet in China maar in Tilbet. Zoals bekend mag zijn wordt Tibet al vele jaren bezet en onderdrukt door China. Gelukkig is het hen niet gelukt de Tibetaanse cultuur (helemaal) te vernietigen.
Het Potala paleis, waar eens de Dala Lamai woonde, is immens groot en PRACHTIG!

I was there some 5 years ago (2005). Great place to be visited. Don't miss it. Other interesting cities to be visited : Shanghai and Bejiing with its Great Wall !!!
