Leaning Tower of Pisa (Italy)

The Leaning Tower of Pisa or simply The Tower of Pisa is the campanile, or freestanding bell tower, of the cathedral of the Italian city of Pisa. It is situated behind the Cathedral and it is the third structure in Pisa's Campo dei Miracoli (field of Miracles). Although intended to stand vertically, the tower began leaning to the southeast soon after the onset of construction in 1173 due to a poorly laid foundation and loose substrate that has allowed the foundation to shift direction.

I went there last Summer and I loved it. It was my first time in Italy and I went to Pisa and Rome. It's incredible seeing how much inclined the tower is. I din't go up there because it was too expensive but I went to the Camposanto Munumentale and the cathedral next to it. In the lawn there were so many people taking the typical photo in which you are holding the tower in forced perspective. That all area was wonderful and full of little street shops where you could buy souvenirs. Amazing. I also went to the Botanical Garden near by and I enjoyed too but I was expecting more. In that region there's nothing there but the tower and the infrastructures associated to it so you can easily see it in about one hour, Yet, an amazing monument to see.
